Senior Principal Engineer ME7 Stewart Ng joined the RSAF and was awarded the Defence Technology Overseas Training Award. He graduated from the University of Leeds, UK with a Bachelor’s Degree in Electronic and Electrical Engineering (1st Class Honours). In 2001, he was awarded the prestigious SAF Overseas Postgraduate Scholarship where he was conferred with his Master of Science in Electrical Engineering from the Naval Postgraduate School, California, USA. ME7 Ng also holds a Master of International Business Administration from University of Wollongong, Australia and a Master of Arts in Political Sciences from University of Haifa, Israel.

For his advanced military training, ME7 Ng graduated from the renowned National Defence College with Distinction. He also attended the Singapore Command and Staff College (SAFTI-MI) and participated in Joint Warfare Exercise at Australian Command and Staff College (ACSC). He was then conferred as proud recipient of the Distinguished Graduate Award for his achievement. In addition, he graduated from an International Aviation Senior Commanders Course at the Air Force Command and War College, Chinese People’s Liberation Army.

ME7 Ng has served in various staff and command appointments in Air Power Generation Command and Air Engineering and Logistics Department, HQ RSAF. These include Head Weapon Systems Centre, Deputy Base Commander Paya Lebar Air Base, Deputy Base Commander Sembawang Air Base, Commander Air Force Supply Centre and Commanding Officer 815 Squadron. ME7 Ng also lectures at the Singapore University of Social Sciences as an Associate Lecturer.

Recognised for his significant contributions to the SAF, ME7 Ng was awarded the National Day Awards – The Commendation Medal (Pingat Kepujian) in 2013, The Long Service Medal (Pingat Bakti Setia) in 2016 and the prestigious Public Administration Medal (Bronze) (Pingat Pentadbiran Awam (Gangsa) in 2020.

Mr. Nicholas Tan is a graduate of the world's preeminent United States Air Force Test Pilot School (USAF TPS). Through his successful completion of an intensive 48-week training program, Mr. Tan has attained the highest levels of expertise and proficiency as an experimental flight test engineer.

His illustrious aerospace journey began with eight years of dedicated service in the Republic of Singapore Air Force (RSAF) as an Aircraft Engineering Officer (AEO). He adeptly managed and led teams of technicians, ensuring the operational readiness of the F-16 communication and navigation systems. During his tenure as an experimental flight test engineer within Flight Test Centre and ST Aero, he lead the testing for over 30 different aircraft, ranging from F-16D+, F-16C/D to the F-5, Fokker F-50, and CH-47 Chinook. Furthermore, he spearheaded classified projects with DSO and DSTA, including avionics upgrades, modifications and store certifications. He was also the Chief FTE for the evaluation of BWC and AJT aircraft including the Pilatus PC-21, T-6 Texan, Embraer Super Tucano, and Aermacchi M-346. His team won the prestigious Defence Technology Prize in 2007.

Beyond his impressive aerospace journey, Mr. Tan has demonstrated an entrepreneurial spirit, successfully co-founding and raising funding for startups in the aerospace, technology, and blockchain sectors. Notably, one of his startups was selected over thousands of companies in Asia to be accelerated by IBM and SGInnovate in Tagpass 2017. Subsequently, his blockchain E-commerce startup successfully completed an Initial Exchange Offering (IEO) in 2019. His leadership and results were recognized with the Brands for Good Award for community engagement in 2019 and the Top 100 Business Styles Award in 2022.

Mr. Tan also served as a Senior Lecturer for the Kingston University (UK) degree program at the Air Transport Training College and as an adjunct lecturer at local polytechnics. His educational contributions extended to assisting numerous students in passing their EASA Part-66 and CAAS SAR-66 licensed exams, as well as supporting overseas trainers from Tianjin CAUC University and Thailand DTI/RTAF engineers. His dedication to education and training led to his recent initiative of establishing the Singapore Aerotech Resource Centre (SARC) to support the industry post covid.

In addition to his professional pursuits, he has generously volunteered his time as Vice-President of the Rotary Club, Vice President of the Lions Club, and Honorary Secretary at the Singapore Institute of Aerospace Engineers (SIAE).

Peng-Yam TAN is currently the Chief Defence Scientist of the Singapore Ministry of Defence having served as the Chief Executive of Defence Science and Technology Agency for more than ten years until May 2021.

He started his career as a research engineer in DSO National Laboratories before assuming various appointments in the Singapore Ministry of Defence and Defence Science and Technology Agency in the management of research and development, international collaboration, and large scale systems engineering projects.

Peng-Yam is a board member of the Defence Science and Technology Agency, DSO National Laboratories, ST Engineering, D’Crypt Private Limited and Synapxe Private Limited. He is the chairman of Cap Vista Private Limited, the Temasek Defence Systems Institute Management Board and a member of the Board of Trustees of the Singapore University of Technology and Design. He also chairs the SMRT (a public transport service provider) Technical Advisory Panel.
